As the leaves start falling and October’s cooler nights creep in, now’s the perfect time to make sure everything’s working its best. Here’s how to get ahead and avoid surprises this heating season.
🔥 Heating
• Pre-season tune-up: Schedule a furnace or boiler inspection with us — clean filters, check pilot lights or ignition, test safety devices.
• Clean & seal ducts: Prevent heat loss by sealing leaks in ductwork & insulating exposed ducts.
• Thermostat upgrade: Consider a programmable or smart thermostat to reduce energy bills.
• Inspect your chimney & venting: If you use a fireplace or vented heating, make sure vents are clean and clear.
💧 Plumbing
• Protect pipes from freezing: Insulate exposed pipes in basements, crawlspaces, attics, and outside walls.
• Check for leaks: Watch walls and ceilings for early signs. Even small leaks can lead to big problems once freezing starts.

• Outdoor hose faucets: Drain hoses, shut off if possible, or install frost-proof frost guards.
