Pedaling for a Great Cause Again!
For many years now, my family and I have participated in the Closer to Free Ride for Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. We ride to celebrate my wife, Michelle, an 8-year cancer survivor, and also, to raise money to support Smilow Cancer Hospital where she received great care.
Once again, I will ride with my wife, Michelle and 12 year old son, Craig in the 8th Annual Closer to Free Ride on September 7, 2019. In 2016, Michelle started our team, Pink Pedals and we’ve grown from 3 riders to over 20 for 2019! This year, our 20 riders are aiming to reach our fundraising goal of $10,000 for Smilow Cancer Hospital.
We are truly grateful to all who have supported us and contributed to our previous rides. Cancer affects so many people – one in five Americans will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime and sadly, one in three will die. Your donations go directly to support programs for survivorship, cancer and genetic prevention and phase l clinical trials.
I continue to ride because of the amazing care my wife received at Smilow. 100% of the dollars raised for Closer to Free Ride will go directly to support patient care and research at this amazing facility. Smilow Cancer Hospital is Southern New England’s premier cancer hospital and the Closer to Free Ride is its signature fundraising event. Thank you for all your support!
